That was my original plan, but we are too far from the local providers so we use a third party satellite feed. Now I found out their HD is mpeg4 instead of mpeg2 so the sat decoder is expensive, not to mention the asi to qam device.. So my first goal is to do some SD unscrambled and try to consolidate sat receivers while figuring IP migration out..
I really need an understanding of ASI and how to combine multiple ASI's onto a single channel, either daisy chain or? We have a bunch of 9850's for Turner if we could cascade them I could put them all on a single ASI, feed that to the qam box and voila have 6 or 8 sd's on a single qam channel. I spoke to them and they said a 9828 would do multi decode so I could grab up to 28 pid's off of a single asi and pump that out over qam.
Tips, ideas, examples all welcome!!!
