1Farmer, nice post. My greatgrandfather could.t read, write or speak English when he came to this country. He started as a laborer hand digging basements for a company that used Ford tractors, then he learned to operate the Ford tractors. No more hand digging, he operated and repaired the tractors when they broke down. He invested a few dollars in this Ford tractor dealer and after a few years this same tractor company started selling cars. That was a local tractor dealer that became the number one Ford dealer in the Midwest. He provided for 12 children and ONE terrific wife.
