Alot of contractors got bad rep from years ago the way things were done. Some hillbilly with no uniform pullin up in a stationwagon leaking oil, with a ladder tied to a 2 x4 that he bolted right thru the wagon roof. He come in half drunk, use your bathroom piss half on your floor. work wise hed get half your shit working , nothing done right at all, and if you said something to him youd get cussed out. Ive worked with guys exactly like this Im not kidding at all. They had no clue what they were doing.
Another reason they got a bad rep is the companies that they work for Comcast, TWC, Directv etc. They all Run down contractors to the customers. anything goes wrong they cover their ass and let everyone know it wasnt them, but a contractor. All the management, techs all of them hate contractors. But yet they all need them to do the shit they dont know how to do, or want to do, and the cycle continues. go figure
