One thing I know about Home networking is you can name a price and get it. Most people want wireless. I don't recommend having the customer buy the router. If they do, you should look up a cheat sheet that will have default usernames and passwords. You will need to know how to reset the modems to factory default. I prefer one type of modem and go from there. The problem comes to when you need to support a device. Customers that have their own routers will accept the fact you wont help them. If you provide it be prepared to support it. Another thing to take into consiteration is stocking up on USB wireless cards. They can take as little as 5-15 mins to install and its another product you can sell to a customer. Plus the added benefit of no additional wires.
