Matthew 12:31-32 speaks of the unpardonable sin, as well as 1 John 5:16, and I have read many commentaries on what this sin, which most biblical scholars agree is the final, wilful rejection of Jesus Christ, once the Holy Spirit has revealed the truth to one's heart, but I want to share a statement I recently read by Dr. J.P. Thompson, and quoted by Dr. A.H. Strong. It says this:
"The unpardonable sin is the knowing, wilful, persisitent, contemptuous, malignant spurning of divine truth and grace, as manifested to the soul by the convincing and illuminating power of the Holy Ghost."
