Employee based drop bury companies

Has anyone every been a sub contractor for a cable comapny and had their contract terminated by the company because they deciced to go to an all employee based drop bury company instead of a drop bury company that had all subs? I was told that that was considered unethical work practice and I have a right to take action. Can any one shine some light on this for me.
