Re: Home Networking

We are contracting with the phone company doing DSL installs and also setup the routers at the modem and either hard wire other Cat 5 jacks or install wireless boosters on distance computers and devices. Pretty much now days everyone has wireless everything so we do log into each device and obtain settings automatic and then setup computers for wireless printers. You should be computer savy if your planning on doing the programming. The downfall of setting up networks on customer CPE is if shortly down the road they experience a problem with there computer guess who is blamed. It is a lucrative business if they have several devices but can be a pain if you don't do it right. Start learning about wireless repeaters, WDS, port forwarding and channel settings. Hope this helps. You have any questions feel free to drop a message.
