Re: Good Old Days

I was training a "newbie" ground hand to climb.  He has never climbed more than about 10 feet until one pay day while we were at the bank cashing our checks, he came out to see me just coming off a pole in the parking lot.
He asked me what I was doing, and I pointed up the pole (about 30 feet) and said, "Do you see that?  It is a $100.00 bill.  You go up there and get it and it is yours."
He started climbing the pole and I called my supervisor and told him what I was doing, (and that the T40 was parked right next to the pole)
The supervisor then called him on the radio and asked him what he was doing.
He said, "Rob put a $100.00 bill, like 40 feet up this pole and told me to get it."
Boy did my grunt cuss me out because he never thought of using the bucket to get the $100.00 bill.
That was a thinking lesson, not a climbing lesson.
