In House techs and some of the HSP do get free service but like you say it would not kill them to cut the contractors a break and give them free service, would help make up for some of the bs back charges. You notice when undercover boss was on the CEO of DTV never visted a contractor. DTV would not want the truth getting out about how these companies are ripping off the contractors and how we as tecs get charged back for bad boxes, bad hdmi cables, bad lnbs and wait PHONE LINES. The Home owner does not have phone lines or internet but that is our fault. Then there is the cx that is expecting 3 rooms of HD and you show up to do the install with std equip. But the sales person never told them they didn't qualify credit so the customer slams the tech on the phone survey for work not complete bacause they did not get hd like they were promised so there goes your CSAT score. Yeah a free account would be nice.
