The amplifiers that we are using are bench swept for 1GHz. We are only given 870 eq's to align the gear, and the bandwidth we are sweeping to is 750MHz. Adjustments to achieve max c/n, min distortion, flatness are necessary. Beside that, don't get me started on normalizing return at the node only. If you ask me, return should be swept back to the hub from first amp out with about 2 dB of tilt from 40 down to 5 MHz in raw, then reference the active and go for flatness downstream. Why not selectively attenuate the low end of the return spectrum where the bulk of your ingress is located.
