Re: Charge Back on completed job?

Since we are not contract attorneys, and even if we were we cannot sign away certain rights set forth by the states which in we do business.  The right of "remedy" was set in place in many states to prevent a contractor from not being paid by an entity who simply says "I don't like the way you tightened a fitting, so I'm not paying and I'm going to profit off of the fruits of your labor" . It's called theft of services.

To the original poster, go and file an ss-8 with the IRS, then when you get deemed an employee take that to the division of labor standards and have a detailed account of the hours you worked, the cost to work those hours (fuel, keeping your vehicle going, tools, etc.) and the paperwork showing they with held monies due to you and you'll get your due. The process doesn't happen over night, but in the end you'll get whats yours with interest, the prime will be liable for your taxes and benefits payable under the laws of being a full time employee.

Or you can just whine about it here and get nothing.
