Re: lookin for sub contractor that give second cha
It will show dont worry. It sounds like these companies are starting to get really anal about things like that. It was 8 years ago get real .I mean you didnt rape or murder someone and as long as you pass a drug test it isnt relavent to the job. You can do a couple of things ,if you only have that one charge most states will allow a once in a lifetime expungement. Next thing and you should do this is to file a complaint about the company that is doing this to both the Federal Trade commision and The EEOC .And if you are minority the eeoc will be your best bet. Then depending on which state you are located in some have laws that prevent them from going back any further on you than 7 years so you might not even have too answer the question about being arrested depending on your location. I know massachusetts has a law like that and california and I believe about 15 states have that. And if that employer took your application and is denying you employment because of something on your background he has to by law send you a letter of adverse action stateing you are not being hired because of something on your background. And you will have several days after recieving that letter to dispute its findings or explain the circumstances involving the crime. In some states the time limit for weed is like 2 years. Get yourself a lawyer and sue who ever doesent abide by these laws. Comcast is pulling this crap with the no felony rulle and it is illegal and the goverment is one step away from going after them for this. Its called a blanket hiring policy it is discriminatory .Most companies only go back 7 years on your background but some are more anal than others and legally they can report a crime on a background check as far back as they want unless state law prohibits it. It sounds like you might have a case against these potential employyers for discrimination and possible violating llaws. Get a lawyer
