Hate to say it, but I am in south west Michigan. Not really rural, but getting connectivity is getting harder and harder. BBdeca is not helping much. SWM only helps if they have internet or phone. For the last two months I have been below 30% and this month I am below 20%. I am 100% for homes that have a phone or internet, so I hook them up when they have it.
The problem is more and more people are going with smart phones. They don't need internet they can do everything from their phone or Ipad. Verizon hot spots are killing me, I am seeing more of those every month.
Hate to say it, but Directv and Dish both need to realize that customers only want them for TV. They don't care about on-demand or streaming video. They want ESPN Discovery and local channels. They don't want Pay Per View as they get netflix or Block Buster for $10 a month not $6 a movie.
So why do the satco's care about connectivity so much? They must have a way to make money off of the info they collect.
