Beatings the Primes take are sometimes self inflicted but alot of times they are because they hire inexperienced hacks . I for one like getting my hold back and all that is owed me. I saw White Mountain take a good one in Myrtle Beach South Carolina . I won't name the MSO , most people that have been in the biz a while know who's there any how.The factual reason the Mtn. was booted from there years back was words between the project mgr. and Nick that worked for the MSO ,even when Smiley from the Mtn. flew in town the next day and it was to late. I was friends with the project mgr. , as soon as the chit hit the fan the mso shut down all forward production . They allowed The Mtn . to go in and repair what their qc people found . Here's the kicker , they went back and re-qc invoices 6mts old . (This was a splicing upgrade).Poor planning on the part of the MSO meant they had run out of things like port cap termenators , bishop tape used on 90's and H to H's , kisses , drop boots ,etc. . They had run out of taps and splitters and just couldn't get the stuff till months later. Well when they handed the jar of Vasoline to the MTN. it was passed right on to the contractors "hold back". Thank God I was friends with the project mgr. I got my 5 grand. When they shut it down the Mtn. used their inhouse splicers to do the clean up. I've seen some common things but that was one of the worst. To the contractors reading this make sure that it is worded into your contract that if the MSO runs out of things that you "the contractor" are to be paid to go back and replace these items. if they don't have it worded in add an addemen. One of the most important things in this business are properly bid contract , that alone if not properly done can bankrupt a company . Just thought I'd share that........"WHITFIELD"
