Its intended to make everything cost less to get going. The test itself is only $125.00 if you do not take the course. I've heard two different theories from two different sources.
1. NCTI is the ONLY certification a DIRECTV techs needs. CORE & SBCA no longer required.
2. NCTI + SBCA are what DIRECTV techs need. CORE certs no longer required.
So either way, it should be about break even cause the CORE Certs used to be $100 a pop from the HSP's.
Nonetheless, we don't charge our techs for certs. So if Cert Testing has gone up, you're probably getting the shaft.
