Who can answer?
Both have a high turnover rate among their subcontractors. Having been screwed by one, not many will bend over again and work for the competition.
DISH has been using employees for their installations for a long time. Direct is now attempting it for various reasons.
And there is no common situation. Things change seasonally and by location, state to state. As a general;ization, there is not emough money offered to travel, pay for expensive certifications or tools and break even. So you are stuck with knocking on local doors and interviewing with both.
Report how it goes.
