 Well, John, you have been in cable long enough to know that you have to take in account each system before ruling out any cable company. I mean, just cause Comcast has poor service in one area doesn't mean all their systems are ran that way. Me, I like to be inside watching tv when it's pouring rain, or God forbid it's snowing during the Superbowl ( get my drift,lol)  satellite has same issues in service as cable, it's only as good as the install. Now, i'm a cable guy myself but Directv does have a great picture as long as it's working. I've just had better luck with consistancy thru cable. Also, Comcast bundling thru triple play will bring you into a competitive price compared to dtv but i do not believe Japan is on their international plan. I will say this though, BE HOME WHEN THE INSTALL IS DONE,lol
