Re: Satellite Guides?

Sounds like you're a subcontractor then. If you are In-House/MasTec Employee you are paid at least minimum wage for the time you spent on the clock. Unfortunately if you are a subcontractor then the aformentioned does not apply.

About the non-pen roof mount comment. Again if you are a subcontractor the cost of the non-pen is baked into the rate the subcontractor is paid. This is why the prices for commercial jobs are significantly higher than the standard rate card. Most commerical jobs are one "VIP" level or another so yes, no custom labor. Not a MasTec thing, more of a DirecTV mandate for how "VIP" jobs are handled.

Sounds like all of the complaining and moaning out there is falling on deaf ears locally. For subcontractors MasTec has a "Partnership Management Team" in place to handle these sorts of issues, all at the Principal/Manager level. If someone is not getting a response locally they can usually contact them and get an answer to any question. As far as in house is concerned, employees can work the chain of command.

Hope that clears some things up. Unfortunately large companies like MasTec expect their technicians to work on getting answers on their own, not sit and complain in online forums and share disingenuous information.
