Rookietech it's locked to keep people from stealing the service. Is this what the industry has come to? You think the sat tech actually believes that after he gets into the lockbox, he is going to unhook cable customers and they will suddenly become sat customers? I highly doubt that a customer is going to jump ship simply because their cable went out once. I have gone on many more trouble calls that were caused by my own kind disconnecting in error than I ever have because a sat guy unhooked an active customer. There's a wire that goes to an apartment....who the hell cares who uses it??? As an installer, you can't tell me that you have never used a line that was ran by Dish/DTV. Just so you know, I have worked all sides of this biz so I've been there and done that.
