Because they'll want a new drop with every install/re-connect and will then get to include the drop price (which will be severely lowered) in the payout for the install.  The QC techs (revenue techs) will follow behind all installs and no new drop, no pay. And you can bet dollars to donuts that the revenue techs will not replace that drop either.
