The Western Show was definitely something to experience. Last one I attended was '91. Got Willie Mays autograph that year. I came up in the industry in So. Cal. working MANY of those new builds you spoke of. Was doing strand mapping and make ready engineering from '83 to '88, so bounced all over Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. Started doing construction from '88 to '92, before heading to the east coast, and it seemed much of the new build was wrapping up. In fact, last project I was on was the Beach Cities build, where we were placing fiber for nodes to reduce amp cascade. That was a pretty cool job. Got to work Cardiff By The Sea when the Budweiser Surf contest was going on. Saw B.B. King play a hole in the wall there too. Good times. Good money. Now here I sit getting ready to head out to cut over some cable replacements thankful just to be working.
