It is a computer and any computer is hackable. I presume if you have the ability to write all zero's to the scramblers e-prom you are in business. The problem lies with 2-way communication between the box and the head end. Satellite has no 2-way communication  only receive.   It can be done but the company can find the box too. within minutes it could be tracked down to a specific residence....in the field not from the head end....pay channels are opt in not opt out   in otherwords the e prom has no programming on it for all of the channels to work    you put code on it to scramble channels   

Good luck     takes a lot of work to do it   for what? to get a knock on the door in the next couple of days by a guy thats gonna put you a nice set of bracelets on....
