I would be carefull of nylon rope. I have seen that stuff pulled under to much tension and when it broke it took the meat right off of my friends arm. I think mule tape is better. I also have used the dish washing liquid. Problem is if you have to come back in a year or two that stuff acts like glue. I find silicon spray does a much better job; just be carefull where you spray it as it gets super slippery.
