For that price, you may have workmans comp, but nothing that will cover you if you get hurt on the job. I've had the same type of policy...the insurance company, for a flat price will issue a policy, but it is just a piece of paper to satisfy whoever you are working for. A legitimate policy would be based on your occupation and you pay a percentage of your total income. Years ago, when I had a real policy, I was paying 9% of my income....very pricey, but a dangerous job. Now, to satisfy Comcast, I insure my wife as a clerk for my company and tell them I pay her $50 a week. This gives my company a certificate of insurance and I only pay $350 a year. Still, just a useless piece of paper if I get hurt.
