If this contractor actually says he'll pay you $9 then that's what you'll get. The BS about "...we'll see if you're up to it" crap is just that. If you have experience or training as a triple play tech then tell them you'll go on ONE job. If that won't satisfy them then take the other thing...might as well - cable is done.
