So, just to start, I am a well qualified technician, capable and tooled up for cable, Dish, or Direct. I can work sweep or ingress, mod swaps, you name it. Here is the deal: I recently moved to Fort Worth, Tx. I want to work Directv, have the correct meter, etc.... but the pay is so freaking low! Offering 40/10 for an install, really? Got a higher offer today for $45/10 wow. I know there is custom money involved, but shouldn't the install pay for gas, insurances, tools, equipment, etc??? This low pay is a joke, and a long way from the $75/$25 days of the past. Here is a list of pay you can expect from Platinum Communications:

Contract no way out for you
