Ok,my friend since the installation you did has 8 outlets.offcourse you will need an amplifier. now this is the question? If you hooked up the EMTA IN THE AMPLIFIER. THAT'S WHERE YOUR PROBLEM IS BUDDY.now the amplifier works with power,sine you connected the EMTA outlet to the ampplifier that power is injecting power in the RF signal,what is causing the forward and TX (return) not to be in range,packet loss.causing the internet connection dropping as well as the dial tone,that is the frucuation.
In order to avoid that disconect the outlet that goes where the EMTA is from the amp,if the signal level foward is in between +15/-6dBMB and the (TX) return is not over 54 you shoulb be OK.
