Yes this is a Directv policy. But the HSP's take advantage of it to steal from subs.
The HSP get's 90 days to use the receivers. They have 45 days to use them before Directv starts to charge them an amount up to the full amount after 90 days. So they have 45 days to use receivers at no cost to them.
The HSP's in turn only give the subs a much shorter time to use the receiver. If the receiver is not used they get charged the full amount of the receiver. I have seen Mastec only gives 10 -14 days, Multiband is at 21, Directsat from what I have heard is at 21 days as well. So the HSP alot of time gets to charge for the receiver and still use it at no cost to them. Plus the many stories of receivers that were consumed on accounts that some how the sub was charged for.
