My grandmother's farm had it in the house, chicken coop and the barn. The house I grew up in had it until 1972 when my parents finally got it rewired. Both the farm and the house were each about 120 years old, the floor joices and roof trusses were just squared off logs and were joined with mortise & tenon joints and wooden pegs. Both places are still standing and lived in today. They are around 160 years old now.
