fall out of one 30ft in the air u will want your lanyard on take it from some one who knows first hand.
My gate latch failed and i fell 30ft hit the ground and hit hard, of course my fault for not checking my gate latch but you would love your lanyard its for your safety not your discomfort. I know its a hassel to work around but you will adapt to it trust me.
