Thanks for the input. I have a good understanding of the conversion; its the point(s) in the system where the measurement is taken is where I am not clear. My customer has a working system in place right now which is being fed from a DIRECTV KaKu dish. I am using a third party to design, build and burn the headend on their end so all I need to do is swap the old one with the new. They have all the info they need, but asked me what the DBMV was on the existing system so they can build the new one to match.
Bear with me because this is my first real venture into the world of Headends and SMATV.
