Finally, somebody has made it work. 18 huh? That's more than the group I attempted it with. I never thought about the vacation with pay idea, either. That's great! Tell me, how exactly is the business structured? Do you just combine all the money earned from the installs and divide it evenly across the board? The reason I ask is because you said you divide the year's excess earnings at Christmas time. Why would there be any excess in the first place? Perhaps you reserve some of the money as a security blanket? What do you do when some installers put in more systems, thus contribute more money, than other partners in the co-op? How much of the gross do you commit to overhead? How much more money would you say you're making with a co-op vs. when you guys were independent contractors? I'm very interested in the ins and outs of a contracting co-op. Sorry for asking so many questions.
