The whole system is corrupted! Take for instance the in-house tech who goes through 5 weeks of training.......he goes out and installs a sysytem and it takes him 6 hours to do a 2 room. How is the company making any money doing that? How about when a contrator, who claims they know what they are doing, goes out to complete job and jacks up a job? The list goes goes on and on with ways that DTV and the techs lose money. The way they combat this is to take back all the money they can to compensate for the loss. This is one reason why you see all those vans sitting in the parking lot. For evey 10 techs they train, they lose 8 within 3 months. They find that they either work rediculious hours, don't make enough money, or just cant keep up with the pace. lLts face it......Unless you are born with that gene that makes you driven to do your job and do it right, you probbly won't make any money. Techs realize that the slammer jammer days are over and they actually have to do some work to make a living.
Everyone has their own opinion on what should be done to remedy all the cons in satellite. The best one is to find somethings else to do and either face the fact that you will have to initially take a pay cut or travel to make any money to feed your family. Lets be real! nobody cares about why you didn't get paid or what you wer charged back for. DTV (all hsp's included) is in business to make money!!!
With this in mind, we (and several others we do business with) are moving in different directions that will enable us to keep doing what we love and not have to leave our house every day wondering how much we will lose intstead of how much we will make.
