I don't think that a cone would stop a lawsuit in the least if someone bumps their head. Ladders are full of safety warnings and it doesn't stop lawsuits at all. I agree you should put a cone out if your ladder presents an hazard. Nothing wrong with that and it's a good idea. I just doubt it would stop a lawsuit in today's litigious society! They might even "trip" over the cone and sue for that! lol
