This is a subject that comes up at every single safety meeting. I personally do not understand what the big deal is. Park your truck, pull your cones off, put one at the front, and one at the back, and go to the subscribers house and get the job done. We have a company policy in place that requires a cone at the front AND back of the truck NO MATTER WHAT, even if you are backed into a space at an apartment complex, or backed into the customers driveway. Some of our techs have a real problem with the cone at the back thing when backed into a space or driveway. Walking around the vehicle to pick up the cones before you leave gives you a chance to inspect the vehicle and your surroundings. The cones also provide good visibility and a warning to other drivers that you are working nearby.
What does everyone else out there do?
What is your "Cone Policy"
