Run across this a lot in my area here in FL. Unless there are at least 2 other subs that the new tap will feed, you gotta fork out the cash period... And as was stated, the loss at that distance isn't even worth running a whole reel of 11. You would need an amp for the TX and one for the RX as well, even if you used 15+db amps, your still gonna be lucky to get it to the CMTS and stay online. That is my understanding at least, Best case scenario is that your closest active is waay hot and it could work sporadically.. Not likely, and absolutely not worth it unless you don't mind paying full price for little to no connectivity..
