if you go to the node and don't see any distortions that would effect your modems, and the problem modems are all over the node and not just grouped in one area then you should look to the head end. not sure what equipment y'all are using but we have Cisco 10k's i believe, and there are connectors on the back called mcx connectors and they are constantly having issues. you call a HE tech and all he has to do is push on the back of the mcx connector and all is fixed. it seems the weight of the cable itself tends to pull the connector out and cause the upsnr problem
