Same thing happened to me in Virginia in '09. Outfit in the biz for 25 years, big with Cox outa Springfild Va off the beltway. Did some Canadian design project for them IN-House, paid me HALF of what they owed me (balance of almost $10k). Get this, I was paid small alotments of $500 here, $500 there until I told them I cant work for free and if my invoices were not caught up WE ARE DONE! They acted as if it were a kindness to pay me at Christmas when I left in early Nov 2009. But as I say they only paid me half! Of what was owed .... small claims, sure, class action was talked about because there were several subs not getting paid. So far .... we all ate the bullet due to new and better days were in our future, beware of a company called KCS. They claimed they were going bankrupt due to bad economy. Tell me another one, Clay! Anyone out there know if KCS is still standing?
