I been using wood for 25 yr now. Good heat, my wife likes to keep it like a damn sauna in the main part of the house. Ain't nothin like sitten around in your skivvies, when there's 2ft of snow and 10 below 0 outside. Heh heh heh heh!! If we are going to be gone a couple of day's, I plug a space heater in on low and it will stay around 50. Just so things don't freeze up. We have propane for our hot water, just topped off the tank last week, 150 gal for $250. That'll last till next spring. Yea, my buddy Spook has propane heat, but also uses wood to off set the heating cost. His cost averages around $150 a month for propane, with his thermostat set at 65 and wood to warm it up more, if need be.
As far as the PBR fee,,,,No alcohol was consumed while operating chain saw's, or hauling wood. That's a no no. But,,once we're home and unloading or splitting, look out. Takes a lot of PBR to keep that maul swinging.
