They are getting into fraud area. You might consider taking  a helper along to verify with the homeowner that all exterior fittings are tight. With witness statements  go to the states attorney for your county. Swear out a warrent for false uttering and invoice fraud....like bouncing a check. If they fire you for taking a legal course you have them by the nuts...a beginning (cheap) lawyer can fix their wagon.
