A few months ago I switched home phone service from company 'A' to company 'C'. I was still hearing company A's tone (dial tone) that let me know that I had new messages. I could still call and access my voice mail with company A which was empty. During this same time I was getting the new tones from the new company C that let me know that I had incoming calls while I was using the phone (call waiting feature). I still have cell service with company A and when I received my bill last month they were still billing me for home phone service. I called and explained everything and they checked the computer logs and found where they (company A) had ported the number over to company B. Then just yesterday I received this past months bill from company A and they had once again billed me for cellular and home phone service. So I called them yet again and explained everything once more. Checking his computer the technician agreed with me that this should not be possible - to have dial tone from two different companies. I am still getting signature propting tones from both companies. The tech was baffled and told me that he would get this fixed and that he would get a supervisor on it straight away.
Any technical gurus out there that can explain this to me???
How is This Possible???
