The N will work with a G or B device, because it will transmit on those freq's (simultaneously) as well. But you dont get the benefit of the higher frequency (and higher speed, longer range) N channel unless the receiver is N capable. Anyway, it'll work just fine and, going forward, most devices will be N so you might as well go with it.
The USB adapter doesn't need to be the same brand as the router. The brand makes no difference, but you don't want some ebay chinese noname, because the transmit power is usually reduced and the connection can be compromised. FYI, most installers carry these "Wireless USB Adapters" from their warehouse and can most likely let one fall off the truck...
As far as the "wifi ready" but no integrated adapter Blu-ray... it's junk. It likely also has its own proprietary dongle that gets purchased separately. Junk. Another FYI, one of the best, fully featured Blu-ray players out there is the Playstation 3. Its comparably priced to the mid-range players but has the capability of the highest end (7 channel sound, ultra fast playback, web browser and integrated wifi) plus you can get down on some Nazi-killin in your spare time...
Good luck, man. You'd only be an idiot if you didn't ask!
