I saw this coming 13 years ago when a VP of the in house company I worked for flat out told us that if a person with a degree applied for a position that a in house
employee applied for then the degreed person would get the open position. When I and others questioned the new company stance on hiring for open positions we were told that anyone could be taught how to do what we did, ( I was a LineTech at the time). We knew then and you all know now that is not the case. The contractors here are getting hammered as bad as in other parts of the company and this trend shows no signs of stopping. Once you get to the point system, the end isn't far off. The reason I say this is that I have never seen a point system work for those whom work to make it.
