Not to many house amps, like you we try to avoid them. When we go into a house we home run everything, there are not suppose to be any cascaded splitters in the homes. If every line is a home run then it makes it easier to tailor the levels to each modem, but it is a lot of work and cost up front. This is a highly contested market (A.T.&T. U-Verse, Dish, DTV, Comcast and us Astound) so keeping the customer happy is a priority to prevent churn. We are the dominant service provider in this area and work diligently to maintain that. Joe is right about keeping it out of the FM band, any loose connectors will cause you a lot of grief, we purposely placed the digital music channels in the FM band to force the service techs to tighten the house.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Winston Churchill
