I dont know if any of you guys remember but right after 9/11 Homeland Security sent out letters to all Telcom/CATV/Power companies asking techs/linemen to report anything suspicious inside or outside customer properties. There was a huge riff about invasion of privacy on the news but it is legal since you were 'called out' to repair something. Most cops don't give a shyt about pot or drugs and will probably get pissed at you for making them write a 3hr report. My father was in the Army's 902nd Counter Intel and they got a tip from a flagger about 6 suspicious foreign nationals (aka Lakawanna 6) shooting automatic weapons in upstate NY, though it was never publicized how they were tipped off.
