I agree with hatteras and splicer. stay in a good hotel until you find your own place (depends on length of job). Always talk to manager to see if you can get a weekly rate, close by bar and restaurants are needed, a kitchen will save alot of money, tip maids ( I did it daily few bucks). I also had a candy dish stocked with chocolate for them. Take valuables with you when you go to work. The one thing I disagree with (speedlasher) is letting them know your packin. Never let anyone know your packin. Do not show off your gun to anyone, not even your co-workers, don't be stupid. Most showoffs will get robbed. When a job starts find out where everyone is staying and check it out, if that doesn't work out look around. I always treat myself when I'm on the road. #1 Be safe #2 Make money # 3 Have fun! P.S. Don't have partys in your room ( it's not a hangout it's where you sleep). And try not to spend more than 1/4 of what you make after tax's for a room.
