Um the preventer is industry standard. Boycott em all and speed if your so worried about laying blame, put ur gaffs on, ride a bicycle with bamboo tires. BTW dont oil that chain. The fault looks to lie in demand, restrictions of drilling in sensative areas that pushed these guys so far out to sea, not preparing for the worst, and poor oversight. The irony from the political front is Obamas support of new leases in the gulfs' deep waters for oil exploration. As an outdoorsman and avid duck hunter I understand how valuable this disaster is to the environment. This is a completely different set of circumstances than Exxon's in Alaska though(which could/should have been prevented). Its obvious that the security measures to prevent this very thing, many in the industry relies on, failed. Hopefully they/we will learn from this. BP has promised to make the shoreline whole again and the liability law is made by politicians. Perhaps the cozy relationship with washington will end. Has your buddy started rowing his boats in protest? Didnt think so. Its an accident, and if anything more Im sure someone will get to the bottom of it if not. Meanwhile Nashville which suffered what may be the costliest natural disaster gets no press. Hand up not hand out and actions solve problems, laying blame is for politicians and managers. Crank the AC up tomorrow and blame someone else for trying to supply you with gas. Men died on that rig and if you ask me that is by far the worst consequence.
