I never said or meant to imply anything about anyone being a dumb ass. I may not be soft spoken but I don't know many people that have 20+ years doing catv that are. I guess its too many years doing construction.
I also understand about not being ably to take a system down due to phone, data, and other reasons. I can only take the system down I work on after I have a path around the area I need to work on. Then before I switch over to the patch I need to clear it with city, state, local, and federal governments. Only after they all sign off can I switch it. When I'm done I got to do the whole government thing again.
As for your fiber it does sound like someone whacked it. I'm guessing that the green is being used for returns. What about slate and white are they geeked too? Or is it only a 4 count at the node?
