While in theory I understand what you are saying, but I think you are smart enough to understand the following.
If infaltion/the cost of living goes up 5% that would include the cost of medical care. So if you are going to factor in inflation you must also include that with the 1% healthcare costs making the true cost of the healthcare 6% more not the 1%. Keeping them seperate is another way of falsley reporting ACCURATE costs.
