Myself, I just don't trust anyone that doesn't have some kind of vice, smoking, drinking, what have you. While it is true it needs to be done in moderation, I just don't trust people like you that claim sainthood. You had guys pass your drug test, then you turn around and fire them just because they talked about drugs? Who the fuck do you think you are? It is possible that they are talking about their PAST. Now coming to work fucked up/drunk, now that is a different story and you would be well within your rights. But talking doesn't mean squat. If it did, you would be commited for your post.
Good luck with your business. Let me forewarn you that executives @ Comcast feel like I do on the trust issue so you would be wise to not say anything like your post in public. You might not have that contract for long. And you are of course paying your guys overtime right? That is part of the business and if you aren't it can take you down faster than the things you condemn.
